Basic Toddler Raglan for Beginners

This class meets for 3 sessions: Wednesday February 14th, 21st & 28th, 2024
Please make sure you're available for all three sessions.
Pattern:  Flax by Tin Can Knits (pattern is free on Ravelry)
Objective:  To develop an understanding of raglan sweater construction and complete a baby raglan sweater.
Skills Required:
  • Must know cast on, bind off, knit, purl
  • Familiarity with knitting in the round is helpful
  • Worsted weight yarn (light colors are best)
  • Yarn amount depends on selected size (suggested 0-6 month sweater uses approximately 280 yards if knit to gauge); sleeves can be shortened to accommodate less yardage
  • For sweater body: Needle in size US7 (or size needed to get gauge of 5 stitches over 1” with the yarn selected) - 24” circular needle; if you also have a 16”, that will be useful
  • For sleeves: Needle in same size as above - 40” circular needle; if you have a 32” circular needle, we can make that work
  • 5 stitch markers (1 should be unique for beginning of round)
  • Your knitting toolkit (scissors, waste yarn, darning needle)

Skill Level: Beginner
