Knitting Socks



Thursday, March 6, 13 & 27 from 1pm-3pm
(This class meets 3 times. You must be abe to make it to all 3 meetings.)

A class to learn and/or enhance understanding of sock knitting using fingering weight yarn and either a basic rib pattern.

Prerequisites:
Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, slip stitches, k2tog and ssk without supervision.
Must have experience in knitting small circumferences in the round using one of these techniques: double pointed, magic loop, two circular or 9" circular needles.
Understanding your own gauge issues (knit tight or loose) and basic sock anatomy is helpful.


Materials: 350+ yards skein of fingering weight sock yarn and needles that will give you a gauge of 8 stitches per 1".

 


Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Knitter can cast on, knit and purl and has a bit of experience with double pointed needles, or is highly motivated.
