Saturday February 8th 1:30-4:40 In this class we will dip our toes into the world of Fair Isle knitting! We will look at choosing colors, color dominance, stranding the yarn, speed swatching in the round and we will even do some steeking (cutting into our knitting)! We will be working with a tried-and-true product, 100% Shetland yarn, traditionally used for Fair Isle knitting. This class is intended as an introduction to Shetland wool and its suitability to stranded knitting. You can be a beginner or seasoned colorwork knitter. Class kit included in registration includes 6 balls of Shetland Spindrift by Jamieson's of Shetland, and a muslin project bag. You’ll need US 4 (3.5 mm) or US 3 (3.25 mm) 24-inch circular needle (if you are a loose knitter use the smaller size needle), 2 stitch markers, and scissors

Wednesday, Feb 19 & 26 from 10am-Noon -This class meets twice. Must be able to make it to both meetings. Learn the components of a hand knit sock and how those components are knit in a top down basic (vanilla) shortie sock using worsted weight yarn. Must meet prerequisites and complete homework prior to first meeting.

This throw is made up of 6 square motifs worked in the round from the center out. The squares are then sewn together to create the finished pieces and decorative tassels are added to the corners. Charted instructions are included at the end. This class meets twice.

Wednesday Oct. 16th, 12 - 3pm. This class meets once. Learn to knit mittens for the entire family. Using double pointed needles and worsted weight yarn, students will make a basic mitten.

Wednesday Jan 22 & 29 from 10:30 -12:30. (This class meets twice. You must be able to make it to both meetings) This hat pattern is a good way to advance your basic knitting skills by learning to knit in the round using a circular needle and/or double pointed needles. You will also get a taste of how to use the Magic Loop technique. The pattern has enough texture to make it an engaging knit. It will make a great gift too.

Our annual Knitting retreat at Cape Cod is scheduled for March 7th, 8th, and 9th. Meet at the Hampton Inn in West Yarmouth on Friday night and spend the weekend with Linda and Co. creating a colorwork cowl using a Doodle Deck full of charts! Fun, Food, Laughs and lots of knitting instruction!

Thursday, March 6, 13 & 27 from 1pm-3pm (This class meets 3 times. You must be abe to make it to all 3 meetings.) Learn the details of making a sock using sock weight yarn and size 1-3 needles. You must know how to: cast on, knit, purl, slip stitches, k2tog, ssk, and knit in the round. Please purchase materials from Northampton Wools to ensure you have the proper materials.

Vests are the IT piece to knit this winter. A little bit of lace combines with a bit of a cable to make a very comfortable vest. This class meets three times.

Thursday, January 23, 30 & February 6 from 1:30-3:30 (This class meets three times. Must be able to make it to all three meetings) Learn the basics of Sarah Schira's gnome designs using worsted weight yarn and her "Gnola of Grimblewood" design. The pattern represents most of the common features of Sarah's gnomes and is a great jumping off point for knitting her gnomes in any weight of yarn. Prerequistes: Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, slip stitches, k2tog, ssk, without supervision and have experience knitting small circumferences in the round using double pointed needles or magic loop or 2 circular needles.

Worked in two colors, in the round, following a chart. This popular style will make every hat wearer happy. A Molino (windmill) represents the duality of a solid structure and the moving blades. It uses the elements of air or water to generate power and transformation. It also symbolizes resilience and perseverance in a harsh environment. The Molino Beanie is a fun project and the combination possibilities are endless. This class meets twice.

Top down and in the round with just a bit of lace and texture. A really quick and fun knit, but learn the tricks to making this sweater fit the way you want! Be like Jennifer and knit several, especially this perfect white cotton!

Wednesday, April 9 & 16 from 10:00am - 12 noon. This class meets twice. MUST know how to Cast On, Knit, and Purl. If you think gauge doesn't matter, then you need this class. Learn all about weights of yarn and how to make gauge work for you instead of against you. This class will teach you how to be in charge of your knitting!

Saturday, Feb 22 & March 8, 2pm-4pm (This class meets twice. Must be able to make it to both meetings) Knit a garter and lace patterned cowl that will take you from late winter into spring. It is as fun to knit as it is to wear. This is an advanced beginner to intermediate class. You must know how to cast on, knit and purl as well as increases and decreases, (yo, k2tog, ssk)
