*Lace Exploration $85 Wednesday
Explore the mysteries of outer lace as you learn to decode the hidden meanings of lace charts. Each class session will conquer a particular region of lace knitting from beginning to end. We will begin with the basics and work through many different patterns, solving problems and daring to fix mistakes. At the end of this 6 week adventure you will be able to read even the most complicated lace chart as easily as you read a map. This class includes printed material.
*Learn To Knit in Three Hours $25 April 21st
Learn the basics of knitting and impress your friends with your new found skill. Learn to cast on, knit, purl and bind off all in three short hours. We can teach anyone with the desire to learn, everything they need to know to knit a scarf. We will give you several simple scarf patterns and at the end of three hours you’ll be knitting on your first scarf.
Materials: 1 pair 10 ½ needles, 1 skein bulky weight yarn
*Summer Special
Rags to Riches $85 Wednesday Morning
The return of this class is by special request. Bag up your favorite stash; bring a notebook and an assortment of needles, and let Linda guide you row by row through designing your our sweater made from your collection of favorite yarns. There will be much discussion about color, stitch pattern, gauge, fit and finishing. Keep the knitting interesting and educational, by being brave enough to try many new things. The sweater is worked side to side to keep the colors and patterns in a figure flattering vertical lines. Learn everything you did not know about your stash. Includes printed materials.
*Stash Shawl or Sweater $25 May 14th
Get started on your first project made with your leftover yarns. This one day workshop will help you put together your leftovers in a pleasing, and appetizing way. You will be given several shawl patterns or a sweater pattern and some help planning this wonderfully individualized summer project. Bring a big bag of your stash and an open mind.
*Magic
Find out about the newest knitting technique to hit knitting needles. Decker will show you how to turn any sock pattern into an easy to make sock using just one circular needle. After this class your needles will be flying as you create sock after sock with no fear of falling stitches or dropped needles. Price includes instruction book, but not yarn or needle. April 21
*Finishing Class $25 Saturday May 10th
Bring in your unfinished projects and learn how to finish them with techniques that will make your work look professionally done.
*Crochet in a Day $35 3 sessions May 3rd, 10th 24th 10;30-11;30
Are you ready for crochet? Did you try to learn this ancient craft in the ancient days and now want to resurrect your skill? Come to this refresher course or come to learn for the first time. Each session will cover a basic stitch with simple project directions. Session one: chain, single crochet. Session two half double crochet hat. Session three double crochet shawl.
*My First Hat $25 Friday May 23rd
Learn to make your first hat on circular needles with a bulky weight yarn. You won’t believe how easy it really is! This class is appropriate for beginning knitters of any age.
*Baby Booties $25 Saturday June 14th
This quickie class will teach you to make a quickie baby bootie that will be the ooh and aah creator at the next baby shower. This little project will show you how to create a comfortable and cozy toe warmer. All you will need is a pair of size 5 needles and some dk weight yarn.
****SIX WEEKS OF KNTTING FUN****
Join one of our six week knitting classes and have fun knitting! These classes are based on sweater construction and take you step by step through the entire process. Along the way you will learn skills. Brush the dust off your old techniques as you discover new simple ways to give your knitting that expertly done look. You might even make new friends and discover that your love of knitting makes you part of a very special group of people. $75 plus a 10% discount on supplies
