This year the week end at the Cape is going to be one of the most fun ever.
The trip will be held the week end of March 21, 22 and 23.
Friday night will begin at 6pm with a color workshop given by our special guest Gail Callahan, the Kangaroo Dyer. Changing Your Color Mindset is the name of the workshop that Gail will be doing. She will show you how to look at color in a whole new way. She will be showing us how to play with color as we use special crayons and paint on her signature worksheets. Gail's work is known nation wide, she has been doing some special dying for Classic Elite Yarns and is working on a new book. We are very honored and excited to have her presenting this fun night activity. She will have samples of her yarn available for purchase, so come ready to fall in love with color all over again.
You have heard the term "Double Knitting " before, now find out how to do it. For the first time, Linda will be teaching a class on this unique technique. You will learn how to knit a fabric that is not only double sided and reversible, but also the mirror image of itself in color. Each knitter will make a sample square to first learn the technique, then in the afternoon you will be able to try your hand at making a pair of fingerless mitts or staring a cowl. What makes the cowl so impressive is the fact that you can see both sides at once, when the cowl in worn. You will need 2 colors of a dk weight yarn. When you call the store to register for the week end, we will tell you what you need to bring or buy. We will also be taking your lunch order at that time.
Dinner on Saturday is on your own. Explore one of the many wonderful local restaurants nearby. By 9pm we will be back in the knitting lounge where drinks, talk and laughter are all garunteed.
Sunday morning we will finish up the details after breakfast.
The cost for the classes includes lunch, a goodie bag, patterns and hand outs and is $175. Reserve your spot soon by calling Linda at 413 586 4331.
