Edinburgh Yarnfest Trip   March 14- March 21 2018

The Edinburgh Yarnfest marketplace will be open from Thursday March 15 through Saturday March 17th. There are always numerous activities during the Yarnfest that you will be able to sign up for through their website. The amount of time that you spend there is at your discretion. 

There are numerous day trips around all of Scotland that you can take on your own. I will post more information later.

Right now it looks like the cost of this trip will come in under $1700 including insurance. Shelly Cronin from Pioneer Valley Travel is finalizing details and will have the number for us in a few days. In the meantime if you are interested in coming with us, call Linda at 413 586 4331 and get your name on the list or ask any questions.

PACKAGE INCLUDES:

·     Flight from Bradley International on Norwegian Air (non-stop, no changing planes in Dublin, no missed flights, no missing people!)

Travel to and from Bradley will be on your own at this time. Arrangements can be made if everyone wants to go on a bus.

 

        6 nights accommodations at Ibis Edinburgh South Bridge Hotel, Edinburgh, United Kingdom This is the same hotel that we stayed at in 2016. It is within one block of the Royal Mile and there are bus stops right on the corner.

US citizens require a passport valid for six months beyond travel dates.

The fee covers the cost of the class, lunch on Saturday. You will get a goodie bag on Friday night, patterns on Sat and instructions all day Sat. The fee does not cover the cost of the room (we have a special rate of $99 per night), or dinner on Sat. night.trash stash cowl

Schedule:

Friday March 10

Arrive at hotel and check in. Meet in the Captain's Room. We will have a pot-luck dinner, snacks and drinks. (Bring your own). Linda Daniels will discuss making a mystery ball for the next day's project. Solve some puzzles and answer some questions- win some prizes relax and have fun.

 

Saturday March 11

Breakfast 7-9am at the hotel (included)

9-5pm- Class with Linda Daniels

This year we will be making Trash Stash Cowls. Here is how it works:

Bring some of your ends and bits of some of your favorite yarns or colors. Combine them with yarn that linda will bring to make a mystery ball. Using a 24" circular size 8 needle, start a cowl. Experiment with different stitch patterns from the collection provided by Linda.  Lunch is included and will be provided by Bag Lunch in Hyannis. When you register with Linda she will give you the website information to pick your lunch.

Saturday night dinner is on your own. Visit your favorite restaurant or ask for reccomendations.

Saturday Night

Return to the hotel after dinner and get your pajamas on! We will sit and knit until the wee hours of the morning (or not.)

Sunday March 12

Breakfast of course
