*Learn To Knit in Three Hours
Learn the basics of knitting and amaze your friends with your skill. Learn to cast on, to knit, to purl and to bind off all in three short hours. We can teach anyone with the desire to learn everything they need to know to knit a scarf. We will give you several simple scarf patterns and at the end of 3 hours, you’ll be working on your first scarf! $25

These charmers will add just the right finish to any spring outfit and you will learn how to knit on double pointed needles, how to follow a chart and how to make simple lace. Add some style to your knitting in a short amount of time.

*Fixing Mistakes
You’ve asked for this for a long time, and now here it is. Linda will show you how to fix some of the most common mistakes in your knitting from dropped sts to mis-twisted cables- without having to rip out the entire piece. Bring your notebook or even your video recorder and learn some neat and easy tricks to salvaging those oopsies.

*Socks on Double Pointed Needles
The sock craze is in full swing! Join the club by knitting a basic worsted weight sock on four needles. We’ll get you started a week before the class and then teach you to turn a heel at the class, and soon your socks will be turning heads.
There are piles of self striping yarn just waiting to warm your toes.
Students need one set of size 7 double pointed needles, 1 sk of worsted weight yarn and should have 6”-8” of K2, P2 ribbing done before the class.

*Lace Explorations
Make a lacy little triangular scarf. Conquer your fear of charts and symbols and indulge yourself in the world of lace. This is an introductory lesson on lace knitting suited for even the beginner knitter.

*Loopy Scarf
Have you ever done a provisional cast on? This is your chance to learn how to do it right as you make one of the most intriguing scarves out there. Come see the sample so that you will be inspired.

*Moebius Scarf (Infinity in Motion)
Everybody is talking about the “new” infinity scarves seen on Oprah and in all the stores this season. Of course they have been around forever- or at least since the first shepherdess twisted her circular knitting. Add the Cat Bordhi true Moebius technique and start to work on next year’s gifts. Students will need a 40” circular needle size and bulky weight yarn of their choice.

Double pointed needles got you down? Learn the magic of making socks using two circular needles. This class will turn you into an avid sock knitter!

Learn to make the perfect buttonhole and how to place them all properly in your knitting. Linda has developed a one- row buttonhole that is perfectly balanced and fun to do. Take your skills to the next level with this technique class.

*Baby Bootees
Prepare for the new arrival with this quickie class that actually has a lot to teach. Learn to pick up sts, work a short row and knit seams together. You will walk out of class with a completed bootie.

Learn short rows, knitting sts together, and the basic felting principles. When your family sees these slippers they will be standing in line for theirs.

*Fearless Knitting For Fifteen Year-olds
This skill booster class is designed for the already knitting teen-ager who wants to learn how to make cables. We will be working on a cabled goody bag for those treasure seekers out there. Class meets on Monday April 19 and Friday April 23 from 3-5pm. Class fee is $35 and includes the pattern and the yarn. Students supply the needles and the enthusiasm.
*One Day Crochet
Learn to make the basic chain, then learn how to put single crochets inot it as you work on an exclusive head band designed by Linda Daniels. Linda has been teaching crochet at the Hill Institute for 5 years and has judged the crochet category at the Eastern States Exposition. This little class will get you going on your crochet journey.

*Entrelac Endeavor
Solve the mystery of entrelac and discover a new world of directional knitting. Learn to knit back backwards and the best way to pick up sts. $30
Six Week Sessions
Our 6-week classes are based on sweater construction. You pick your project (with our guidance if you are a beginner) and learn all the techniques you need as you knit along. They meet on the same day and time each week for six weeks, note the beginning dates below. $75 and we offer a 10% discount on materials purchased in our stores during the class sessions. Class fees are non-refundable unless the class is canceled by us. There are no make up classes and no partial payments will be accepted.
